The Hungry Kind

My heart is the hungry kind

Seeking only just to find

The rumbling of some different wheel

I must have a hundred tales

In the dirt beneath my fingernails

In the gravel buried in my boot heels

Never went to bed with anyone

Who didn’t wake to find me gone

By the time she woke I was miles away

Never trusted those who said I should

Who said it was for my own good

What the hell do they know anyway?

Straight into the vein

Nothin’ ventured nothin’ gained

Waiting for the blame

I know i’m not very smart

I never understood my heart

It’s like it beat it’s very own code

But sometimes when I listen hard

Its like its letting down its guard

Sometimes it sounds like boots on road

Straight into the brain

Like a shot of cheap cocaine

Waiting for to fade

My heart is the hungry kind

Seeking only just to find

The rumbling of some different wheel
